In the 2000's, Urban Outfitters has 600 employees in several buildings in downtown Philadelphia. This dispersion of the team was causing problems and decided toconsolidate into one campus in the shipyards of the Navy left.

Urban Outfitters CEO Richard Hayne, wanted a space that reflects your company's designs and products, and meet employees' needs for space and creativity. Whilethe renewal of a $ 100 million, the buildings only costs $ 1 to buy and much of the materials were reused and recovered in the 330,000 square feet of newly renovated space.

The resulting appearance of the new headquarters is that bears the scars and reflects the history of the Navy and its construction and repair of naval vessels. The painting remained in the walls, the metal was sandblasted and left to rust, recovered wood is used to make new stairs and windows were removed,re-glazing, and reinstall.
Most of the offices and studios are open to the flow of wine and light from skylightsand high windows of the buildings of several floors of warehouse.

The new campus has gardens, a dog park, fitness center, dining, a yoga studio, and even a farmers market. Julie Bargmann D.I.R.T. study, which is characterizedby the transformation of brownfield happening in public spaces, designed the landscaping around the buildings exterior.
