Designed and built by Urs Peter Flueckiger and a group of students from Texas Tech University, the Sustainable cabin was also inspired by Le Corbusier's Cabanon, a manifestation of the ideas of Swiss architect on the minimalist life.
At present, the structure is stationed in Wichita Falls, which is being used as a laboratory for students to study and test sustainable design.
Mocoloco Flueckiger said one of the studies involve the collection of data on the performance of the solar panels of the cab and compares the performance of competing products.
The cab features several sustainable architectural solutions to environmental problems related to water use, energy production and consumption of resources, including water harvesting, composting, natural ventilation and solar energy.
The structure was built with a double-wide chassis and has recovered a number of elements ecotastic.
Complete with a composting toilet, a battery to store energy, solar electricity, cedar and exterior of corrugated iron, recycled denim insulation, bamboo floors, and a Morso stove energy efficient.
