Residence Study in Mijares

The house and studio are located in a small plot in the division Mijares. Has good accessibility, rural views and distant from the mountain.

Design completion of the program complex, given the determination of planning and site characteristics: access to the right direction, tilted trapezoidal plot, guidelines, monuments, adjacent buildings, and the existence of a large tree, Salix fragilix.

Location in Mijares, Santillana del mar, Spain

The building is situated beside the access road, leaving a small meadow is also oriented to the front. A strip of land is left behind to protect the willow and make room for a small park. Topography of the package can be placed in different program areas (local parents, children and shopping), each with independent access and level of confidentiality.

This construction is very simple. Half buried in heavy volume, while part of the high light. The workshop was built with walls and concrete. Mantains concrete house with a steel core focus. Thin aluminum layer to the exterior and roof weights in contrast to convey the impression a large concrete structure of the workshop. The roof was finished with landscaping solutions. The floor of this study is made of resin-mortar house, we use a floating wood floor larch. limestone exterior is gray and bathroom tiles are filled with phenolic board. Inside, the glass door, with the exception of the upper floor where they remain hidden in the hanging piece of plywood.

Interior Residence Study in Mijares

This space has a certain air of California architecture of the fifties, is best described by Julius Shulman and created by artist Rodney Graham in his book “The Amateur Gifted.” They are characterized by a constructive solution, large openings that allow entry of light sculptures and the spread of development on the environment. The character of this industry was deemed too watered by natural woods used for floors, curtains and furniture bumpy.

Exterior Residence Study in Mijares

Furniture and equipment is built with steel plate, plywood and glass. Furniture by Le Corbusier, Charles & Ray Eames, Maarten Van Severen, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec and Patricia Urquiola has also been used.

Building form reflects the organization of the three volumes dialogue bed with each other by contrast material and window in turn.
