HBA / Hirsch Bedner designed the spa on the 118th floor 116 and the creation of an urban escape in the heavens and make ESPA the focal point of the city skyline and the jewel in the crown the top of Hong Kong lights.
Those who indulge in the 10,000 square foot ESPA has a unique opportunity to see Hong Kong from above and splendid views of Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong and the New Territories. The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA is more than 1,000 feet above the hectic streets of Hong Kong. Customers at the same time feel connected to the city with breathtaking views, but nevertheless, totally isolated from the bustle of the city below. To make guests feel "cocoon among the clouds," HBA planned spaces without sharp corners. All edges are rounded and the walls themselves are curved as in a protective embrace.

Silkworm cocoon is a soft pillow and white fine silk clothing, making it an ideal metaphor for the spa - a place of peaceful transformation, protected.

With 860 square meters / 9257 square feet, The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA redefines the spa experience in Hong Kong. With nine treatment rooms and two luxury suites for couples, in addition to floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views and relaxing therapies, this unique resort in Hong Kong is the perfect place to leave the world behind.
ESPA has created an exclusive collection of signature treatments powerful and highly effective for The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, combining Western and Asian influences, incorporating traditional techniques and indigenous ingredients to help balance and renew the mind, body and soul and give light and radiance to the skin.

Upon entering ESPA, the client moves smoothly and natural textures. Head of a cocoon in the form of a floating art of porcelain developed with the artist Eva Menz is suspended from the ceiling - creating a balance and bringing nature into the space. The walls are upholstered in horsehair, and the perimeter of the plant is infused with warm wood bronze metal, which contrasts with the floor of central reception area of ivory stone. The seats and lighting elements are gracefully curved tables and naturally low contour reinforce the feeling of being tucked safely.
Treatment Areas
The treatment rooms offer floor to the walls of windows overlooking the cityscape. Curved screens ivory metal bands like ribbons flowing against the glass to create a shadow play of light beams through the cocoon rounded like room.
All services are hidden behind sliding doors. A crystal pendant, like a drop of amber rain dripping from a mulberry leaf, shining in contrast to the soft texture of the panels. Bronze metal accents give a glamorous glow to surprisingly smooth and clean simplicity of the surroundings.
In the VIP suites, guests take their own luxury cocoon, anchored by a feature wall of bronze, have beautiful bathroom with a view to Hong Kong, and a large relaxation room with contrasting textures and materials in rich tones bronze. Two areas of the treatment bed can be used together or divided into two private spaces.
In the spa relaxation room, curtains individually designed seat pods to create private spaces. This is really a space in which little by little the guests can relax before or after treatment. The curtains provide privacy texture, but still allow light and space to enter.
