Architectural Renderings House-Floating Dining Room With 1,672 Bottle Raft

There was an incredible green dining room in Vancouver that floats like a raft that recently became popular as a pop-up restaurant. Its can floats since it made of 1,672 2-Liter plastic bottles. This unique diningroom has been built for two purposed.

First, to increases awarness about existence of plastic scraphead that floats in the oceans. And second is to positively affect the sustainable seafood chain. This ideas brought by the School of Fish Foundation and build by C Restaurant, the Plastic Dining Room is serving a nightly six-course sustainable seafood menu.

However it’s taking a decidedly more elegant path to sustaining the seas through fine china, crystal glassware, and wine pairings.

Shanon Ronalds, The founding of the School of Fish Foundation, worked hard to create a positive impact on the seafood industry by educating chefs about sustainable seafood. He had a vision to build the floating dining room and new that plastic 2-Liter bottles could be used as flotation. With the help of a marine engineer and Goodweather Design, they drew up plans for a dining room that floats using 1,672 bottles. This elegant raft was constructed out of reclaimed pinewood.

The Dining Room officially opened on July 21st and will continue to serve meals nightly until the end of September. The table can seat twelve people and a seat costs you $215 for a six-course meal, which includes organic and biodynamic wine pairings.

The sustainable menu was designed and catered by chef Robert Clark of the well-known C Restaurant. The seafood menu is subject to change according to availability of ingredients, as any fine sustainable restaurant’s menu should.This dining room also features fine crystal glassware, intimate lighting, soft music, and of course, excellent views of the water.
