Den architecture American architecture office has completed the renovation Salvade-Serenelli residence in Pinecrest FL.
The kitchen:
Located in a neighborhood in southwest Miami residential dense vegetation, this kitchen remodel requires a radical change in the current format of the house. Previously enclosed by cabinets and walls halfway up, the proposed design extends the spatial relationship of the interior spaces. All walls separating the kitchen from the rest of the house were demolished, creating a continuous flow of traffic through the area newly designed dining room and family in the process.
The kitchen was designed after one of the tropical fruits abound in the neighborhood: coconut. With its hard outer skin and core dark fragile light, the fruit was used as a metaphor and starting point for design. The two campuses of high-gloss white and the interior to match the performance difference of shades darker wood cabinets surrounding it, the frame and showing the main areas of activity in the kitchen (cleaning, preparing, washing, cooking and eating). Get off at the end, next to the living room, a breakfast table and fitting white suit for anchor light hood space.
Cabinets specified with FSC certified wood, wood veneers with national. The white areas of the kitchen designed exclusively for acommodate tasks that require concentration, make use of its light color and high reflectivity to reflect natural light from the adjacent windows. Light fixtures, especially in areas above tasks are indirect LED strip lights that use a fraction of electricity compared to standard lamps. Countertops and backsplashes are only ½ "thick, which saves half the amount of material that would otherwise be used in standard caps. The selected fixtures and equipment are among the most efficient in the industry, to compare electricity and water use.
Bath Room:
This commission involved the renovation of a transition multipurpose bathroom, connection to a pool area with a single family residential. The challenge was to create a space that serves both purposes is not an official guest bathroom, a billiard room and shower. Furthermore, customers asked for the bathroom as a bathroom to serve children as possible, given their desire to start a family. The end result is to combine all the requirements in a playful balance of formal and material compositions casual.
The proposed design is focused on a bipartisan solution that involves a combination of shapes and finishes all carefully selected from a pool environment. White rectilinear volumes and floating objects projecting from the walls like trampolines. The niche shower at the entrance to the pool, also in white, welcomes guests returning from a long day of sunbathing and swimming. The colored glass tile mosaic acqua focus on the main wall, mimmicking water color, while white palette usually refers to the hygienic needs of the aquatic environment.
From a perspective of sustainable design, the space has been designed using factory-built "off-the-shelf" components such as cabinets and shelves, which are very flexible and reusable in the future. This avoids the need for expensive custom wood work, involving a larger carbon footprint. The floor, made of local coral stone, the Caribbean, is a refined version of the material used to cover the outdoor pool. The palette of predominantly light-colored materials facilitates the use of natural light due to its high reflectivity.

The master bathroom:
Customers of the South American region of Patagonia commissioned a master bath remodel to balance the strength of its origins with the sophistication of urban life in the U.S.. A tight budget need the most work is produced from a combination of prefabricated components purchased in local stores. Location of plumbing fixtures had to stay to reduce labor costs, and a large existing mirror, which was finally re-used to suit the design proposal.
As a starting point, Customers selected a list of mosaic reminiscent of the rock formations and color variations of the Andes in South America. Pan and layers of colors that they have the inspiration for the design of the proposal the main bathroom. A series of horizontal combining solids and voids include mirrors, cabinets and shelves. Acorn colors like brown and white, taken from the selected list, provide the requested rustic charm, offset by chrome accents in the sophisticated apparatus, appliances and lighting. To create the spatial perception of a larger room, the shower was designed integrally with the rest of the space, using the same floor material and a transparent box frameless shower.
The end result is a main bathroom efficiently designed using prefabricated components recovered stores.The local mirror was re-used and adapted for the design, while the other materials were obtained from local sources. The use of a shower enclosure clear glass allows the use of natural light throughout, which reduces electricity consumption for lighting during the day.
